“Iconic Pictures of Berkshire” Photographic Competition

Posted 01/11/2013

Berkshire Healthcare were recently awarded almost £1millon to enhance the environment for dementia sufferers. The money will be used to improve the environment on two wards at Prospect Park Hospital in Reading. Dementia sufferers benefit greatly from having access to photos  and memorabilia that help spark memories and encourage conversations with family and staff.

We will be running a competition to capture 36 images of iconic places in Berkshire that will be displayed on Rowan ward. We are looking for stunning images that represent local landmarks, history and culture of Berkshire.

The photos will brighten up corridors and transform communal areas and will be displayed in “Picture This” frames.

Photos will be judged by the Berkshire Healthcare Dementia Bid Project Team. 36 images will be chosen to be displayed and the overall winner will receive £100 to spend on photographic equipment.

A maximum of three images per entrant are welcome and should be submitted as a digital image to:

lesley.thomas@berkshire.nhs.uk  by the 30th November 2013.

The winning photographs will be professionally printed and displayed on the wards. Winners will be invited to come along and see their pictures displayed on the refurbished ward in December (date to be confirmed).
