To help students who are embarking on their studies in Reading this autumn, we’ve produced new guides to help them find local health and wellbeing services.
We handed out around 200 A5-sized Quick Guide cards to students from our information and advice stall at the Freshers’ Fair at Reading College on Monday September 24, and on Thursday 27 September at the Freshers’ Fayre at the University of Reading. The card covers how to access GPs, mental health, sexual health and contraception, pharmacies, emergency services and more.
We’ve also created a more detailed guide on a dedicated webpage for students, including information about their NHS rights.
Last but not least, we’ve been asking students to have their say in a new survey we’re running from Monday 24 September 2018, to check what health and wellbeing topics matter most to them and whether they know how to access local advice and support. By 28 September we had collected more than 150 responses.
We have a few of the A5 cards left so if you’d like one to be sent out to you, call us on 0118 937 2295. We’ll bring you results of the student survey over the next couple of months.
