The Care Quality Commision found that the centre had made a number of improvements since the last inspection in 2016.

The number of people with TB in South Reading is one the highest in the UK. South Reading CCG, along with Reading Borough Council are encouraging people who have entered the UK in the last five years and who have previously lived in places such as South East Asia or sub-Saharan Africa to book a blood or skin test, which is free from your local TB service.
- South Reading Surgery placed in ‘special measures’ by NHS inspectors
South Reading Surgery has been rated ‘Inadequate’ and placed into ‘special measures’ by the Care Quality Commission, and its partner surgery, Shinfield Health Centre, has been rated ‘Requires Improvement’.

The South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SCAS) would like to hear from people aged 14 and over and Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) groups to complete a short survey so they can learn about your experiences of and/or knowledge of your local health services.
- Age UK Reading are to launch a new social club
Age UK Reading in partnership with the Council are to launch a new social club at Rivermead and will offer a fun social outlet for people who find it hard to leave home without support as well as giving their carers some much needed time to themselves.
